Guide of Tokyo Station

Tokyo St. in its 100 years of history has an important base in transportation.
It has a terminal where a lot of train companie lines pass through.

There are a lot of trains who departs to many destinations inside Tokyo but there are also fast trains (ex. Shinkansen) which departs from this station to other famous locations like Osaka or Kyoto. People who live in Japan for a long time pass by this stations usually.
In Tokyo, not only stations like Shinjuku or Shibuya are always crowded, Tokyo st. Is also crowded as well. Because that, the station was separated in Marunouchi, Yaesu and Tozai area. http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/stations/e1039.html

Marunouchi Area

The east area of Tokyo Station is Marunouchi Area.
If you plan to go to see the Imperial Palace you must to go to this area.
It hasn’t have many shopping stores but Marunouchi area face building red bricks were restored recently so it can be a nice spot to shoot some pictures.

Lately a new tourist information center for foreigners was opened near Marunouchi North Exit.

KITTE

It´s in front of Tokyo St. Marunouchi South Exit.
At the beginning it was built as a Tokyo central post office but it was renewal as KITTE (“kitte” means stamp in japanese). 
The interior design was kept as the original one but inside you can find a Tokyo University mueum, restaurants, cafe, fashion shop, small retailers and a lot of other shops.
Specially, there are famous brands even for foreigners like Onitsuka Tiger or Kaneko optica shop which are good as a present.
Furthermore, in B1 floor there is a special area of information for foreign visitors.

Yaesu area

In Tokyo station east area it is Yaesu area where we can find a shopping space. Lately a huge reconstruction happened and the area became bigger.
Main space is located in the underground shopping street where a lot of shops are lining up.
There are shops for otaku like Shonen Jump Shop, Gundam Café, Pokemon Shop, Studio Ghibli and so on where you can buy a lot of goods too.
You can also find ramen and sweets restaurants!

It is a shop where you can buy good from famous works published in Studio Ghibli!

NHK Character Shop(DOMO-KUN)

In this shop you’ll find Japan broadcast character goods.
